I have a valid Working with Children Check, Diploma of Music (Theory and Composition), Cert IV in Training and Assessment, and an ATAR/ENTER equivalent to 99.7. I am currently pursuing bachelor's degrees in Cellular Biology, Maths, and Secondary Education at Deakin University.
Experience
I want to be a tutor for the same reasons I'm studying to be a high school science/maths teacher. I enjoy learning and sharing my knowledge with others. Plus, I've been told I have some talent and a lot of patience. My approach is to adjust my teaching style to my student's needs. I'm willing to tutor single students and small groups. I am strongest at providing tutoring at a high school or university level in maths and science (physics, biology, and chemistry mainly, but also earth sciences and physiology). I can tutor the following subjects at high school or first-year university levels: English (incl. creative writing), social sciences (geography, anthropology), flute, and music theory. I have both informal tutoring experience working with classmates, friends, and relatives and formal experience as a VCE Specialist in Maths and Foundation Maths at a VCE Summer School affiliated with the University of Melbourne, so I know how to explain quantitative concepts to students.
